Norse Atlantic landed for the first time in Miami

On September 18, Norse Atlantic Airways began the transfer of its operations from Fort Lauderdale to Miami International Airport.

The first service to land was flight Z0 723, operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner registered G-CKWN and named «Jotunheimen». The aircraft departed Gatwick Airport (LGW) at 14:25 local time and arrived at Miami International Airport (MIA) at 19:16, after nine hours and 52 minutes. Norse is currently the only low-cost airline providing long-haul flights between Europe and Miami.

Norse Atlantic will have 25 weekly flights and 16,900 seats per week between the U.S. and U.K. for the winter season, representing a 350% increase in capacity compared to last year’s levels. The airline’s U.S. network this winter offers flights to New York, Orlando, Los Angeles, and Miami.

In addition to current services from London-Gatwick and Oslo, Norse Atlantic continues with the strategic plan to expand its presence in South Florida with two new services from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Berlin to Miami. In total, by mid-December, the low-cost carrier will offer 9,464 seats per week between Europe and Miami.
